Merrimack County Cooperative Extension

Since 1915, the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Cooperative Extension – a partnership among county, state and federal government – has provided New Hampshire citizens with research-based information and non-formal educational programs.
The Merrimack County Extension Staff prides itself on its friendly, resourceful and responsive outreach to Merrimack County residents in the broad areas of:
- Forest Resources
- Agricultural Resources
- Food and Nutrition
- 4-H Youth Development
- Parenting
- Family Finance
- Food Safety
Our educational programs and information reach individuals, families, community groups and key decision-makers through workshops, group meetings, telephone and email conversations, newsletters, videoconferences, and one-on-one consultations.
We help you connect
Our county outreach staff connects directly to the larger resources of UNH Cooperative Extension’s campus-based subject-matter specialists, to the University of New Hampshire faculty, and to the nation’s land grant university system. Our specialists and county outreach staff conduct field research and organize programs based on requests from stakeholder groups.
We further extend our reach by recruiting, training and supporting thousands of volunteers, who give time in their communities as 4-H leaders, master gardeners, community tree stewards, lake quality monitors, and wildlife stewards.
